Offer exclusive pricing or discounts to wholesale buyers, B2B customers, or bulk purchasers using Customer Account promotions. Only logged-in customers with a wholesale tag will see the promotion.

How It Works

Tag your wholesale customers in Shopify, then create a Customer Account promotion that only activates for logged-in customers with that tag. Wholesale customers see exclusive pricing, bulk discounts, or free shipping as they browse.

Example:

• Wholesale customers (tag: Wholesale) → 30% off all products

• Or: Buy 50+ units → 40% off + Free Shipping

• Pricing updates automatically when they log in

When to Use Wholesale Promotions

• B2B or trade customer discounts

• Bulk buyer incentives (quantity-based pricing)

• Distributor or reseller pricing

• Volume discounts for corporate accounts

• Exclusive net-30 terms or free shipping for wholesale accounts

Setup

Step 1: Tag Wholesale Customers in Shopify

Manually:

1. Go to Customers in Shopify

2. Select a wholesale customer

3. Add the tag Wholesale (or your preferred tag)

4. Click Save

In bulk:

1. Go to Customers in Shopify

2. Select multiple wholesale customers

3. Click Add tags in bulk actions

4. Enter Wholesale and save

Automate with Shopify Flow: Set up a workflow to automatically tag customers who:

• Spend over a certain amount

• Place orders above a quantity threshold

• Are assigned to a wholesale price list

Step 2: Create the Wholesale Promotion

1. Open the Abra app and click Create Promotion

2. Set Visibility to Customer Account

3. Select the customer tag Wholesale

4. Add your discount:

   • Percentage off (e.g., 30% off all products)

   • Volume discount (e.g., Buy 50+ → 40% off)

   • Free shipping

   • Order-level discount

5. Configure settings (thresholds, eligible items, usage limits)

6. Add storefront blocks with wholesale-specific messaging (e.g., "Wholesale Pricing Active")

7. Click Save

The promotion will activate automatically for any logged-in customer with the Wholesale tag.

Tips for Wholesale Promotions

Use Volume Discounts for Bulk Incentives

Set up tiered pricing based on quantity:

• Buy 50+ → 30% off

• Buy 100+ → 35% off

• Buy 250+ → 40% off

Enable Dynamic Pricing

Enable Dynamic Strikethrough Pricing so wholesale customers see their exclusive pricing as they browse. This reinforces the B2B relationship and increases order size.

Customize Storefront Blocks

Add banners that confirm wholesale pricing is active: "Wholesale Pricing Applied" or "Your B2B Discount is Active."

Separate Wholesale Promotions by Region

Create multiple Customer Account promotions, each restricted to specific markets:

• US Wholesale (tag: Wholesale-US) → 30% off

• Canada Wholesale (tag: Wholesale-CA) → 25% off

Alternative: Use Private Links for Wholesale

If you'd rather send unique links to wholesale buyers instead of using customer tags, you can use Private (Abra Link) promotions.

How it works:

• Create a Private promotion with wholesale pricing

• Share the Abra Link directly with each wholesale buyer

• They click the link to activate wholesale pricing for their session

When to use this:

• You have a small number of wholesale buyers

• You want to track performance per buyer

• Wholesale buyers don't have Shopify accounts
