Quantity Tiers with Gifts, Shipping, and Discounts

Unlock rewards based on the number of items purchased. Each tier triggers when a customer adds a specific quantity of products to their cart and can include free gifts, free shipping, and discounts.

How It Works

Each tier has a minimum quantity requirement and one or more rewards. As customers add items and reach each threshold, the corresponding rewards apply automatically.

If the customer drops below a tier's threshold, that tier's rewards are removed. Lower-tier rewards remain if their thresholds are still met.

Example:

• Tier 1: Buy 3 items → 10% off products

• Tier 2: Buy 5 items → 10% off products + Free Shipping

• Tier 3: Buy 7 items → 15% off products + Free Shipping + Free Tote

Setup

1. Open the Abra app and click Create Promotion

2. Set Visibility to Private while configuring

   • Note: Public visibility makes the promotion active immediately on save

3. Scroll to Discounts and click Add a discount

4. Select Multi-Class Tier Discount

5. Enter a URL-friendly discount code (e.g., QUANTITY-TIERS)

6. Configure your settings:

   • Customer Buys - Choose Quantity as the threshold type and define eligible items

   • Tiers - Set each quantity threshold and assign rewards (free gift, free shipping, product discount, order discount)

     • Each tier can include multiple rewards

     • You can add multiple product-level discounts per tier for granular control

   • Customer Eligibility - All customers or a specific Shopify segment

   • Usage Limits - Per order, per customer, or total uses

   • Sales Channels and Markets - Limit if needed

7. Click Save

8. Scroll to Storefront Blocks, activate the ones you want to use, and place them in your theme editor

   • Recommended: Tiered Banner on product pages + Gift Banner in cart (if using gifts)

Storefront Display

Use Tiered Banners to show customers their progress toward unlocking rewards. Place them anywhere on your site (including the cart) and they'll update in real time as customers move through your promotion's tiers.

Reward Options Per Tier

Each tier can include:

• Product-level discounts (% off or $ off specific products) - Multiple allowed per tier

• Order-level discount (% off or $ off entire order) - One per tier

• Free gift - One per tier

• Free shipping - One per tier

Limitations

• Maximum of 5 tiers per promotion

• Each tier must have a unique quantity threshold

• Only one order discount, one free gift, and one free shipping reward per tier

• Shopify automatic discounts may conflict with Abra promotions and cause unpredictable behavior (e.g., gifts not discounted, codes not applying). 

• If automatic add and removal settings are not configured properly in settings, gifts are automatically added once per session (not re-added if manually removed) and automatically removed when the customer no longer qualifies. 

• Free shipping applies only to eligible shipping methods configured in Shopify
