Postscript integration setup instructions

Abra improves conversion at the point of opt-in by expanding the offers you can include in your SMS flow: gift with purchase, tiered rewards, multi-value, and combination discounts.

With this integration, when a new subscriber opts in, Abra will automatically apply the associated discount and auto-add the eligible free gift or activate on-site and in-cart dynamic strikethrough pricing. This creates a seamless experience for new subscribers and makes it easier for them to complete their purchase.

Setup Instructions

Install Postscript and Abra
- Ensure both Postscript and Abra apps are installed and set up in your Shopify store
Create a Promotion in Abra and a Popup in Postscript
- In Abra, create a promotion with any logic required for your offer. This could be:
  - A tiered gift with purchase
  - Product discount (%) and free shipping
  - Variable discounts across collections or products

- Configure your Popup in Postscript and make sure it represents the offer you created in Abra
Activate the Postscript Integration
- Activate the Postscript integration in the Abra settings page and select the promotion you want to activate from your popup
Test the Integration
- View your store and sign up through the Postscript popup form to activate the Abra promotion
- Verify that upon completion the discount is automatically applied to cart and checkout

What kinds of promotions work best here?

It depends on your product, price point, and customer base. Our recommendation is to think strategically about your margins and how discounts can improve them:

Gift with Purchase + Free Shipping: Take a product that’s moving toward zero value and position it as a high-perceived-value gift at a spend threshold. Add free shipping at the next spend tier.
Multi-Value Discounts: Assign different discount values to individual products based on margin. This gives you control over profitability while still creating a “deals are everywhere” feeling. This improves product discovery, conversion and AOV while helping you maintain your margins.
Gift with Purchase + Order Discount: Combine a small order-wide discount (like 10%) with a free gift at a spend threshold. The % off drives conversion, while the gift boosts perceived value and encourages bigger carts.
