Subscription Discounts by Market

Offer different subscription incentives to customers in different regions. Create up to five market-specific subscription discounts within the same promotion.

How It Works

Each subscription discount is restricted to a specific Shopify Market. When a customer qualifies within their market, the corresponding incentive applies automatically.

Example:

• US subscribers: 15% off

• Canada subscribers: $20 CAD off

• UK subscribers: Free shipping

Subscription Pricing Considerations

Important: Subscription products often include a base subscriber discount from your subscription app. When you add regional incentives, subscribers receive both the existing pricing and the market-specific reward.

Review total value per market to ensure each regional offer aligns with your subscription strategy.

Setup

1. Open the Abra app and click Create Promotion

2. Set Visibility to Private while configuring

3. Scroll to Discounts and click Add a discount

4. Select the incentive type (percentage, amount off, free shipping, or free gift)

5. Enter a URL-friendly discount code (e.g., SUB-US, SUB-CANADA)

6. Configure your settings:

   • Customer Buys - Set Purchase Type to Subscription

   • Choose your incentive value

   • Markets - Select the region this discount applies to

   • Customer Eligibility - All customers or a specific Shopify segment

   • Usage Limits - Per order, per customer, or total uses

   • Sales Channels - Limit if needed

7. Click Save

To add additional market-specific subscription discounts:

1. Click Add a discount again

2. Repeat the configuration with a different Market selection

3. You can add up to 5 subscription discounts per promotion

4. Scroll to Storefront Blocks, activate any you want to use, and place them in your theme editor

Storefront Display

Promotion messaging appears wherever you place storefront blocks. The correct regional incentive displays based on the customer's active Shopify Market.

Limitations

• Maximum of 5 subscription discounts per promotion

• Each subscription discount must target a unique Shopify Market

• Subscription pricing from your subscription app is multiplicative, not additive, so it is recommended to utilize our calculator for subscription discount add-ons and test prior to sharing with customers.
